Art progression and using goals.
Now, at the start of every year I write up a list of my aspirations big or small and pretty much forget about it (unless I have other desires during the year). One of the goals was to display my stencil art in a gallery, I've never done it before and as a Leo my work should be viewed by all, no matter the quality. Anyway, last week while at another exhibition a gallery owner asked me if I wanted to be part of an international stencil exhibition, my heart jumped and pushed a word out of my mouth - "definitely".
I purchased a few canvases, went home and started to prepare the background for chesh (http://davewillison.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=24#/d4cy7k3) to sit on, a nice black starry layer using matt black and speckles of silver. Six more layers later and it was ready, the curator was happy and accepted my work into his show to open this Thursday.
Now where I'm going with this is that YOU should always 'concrete' goals, you don't always have to review it or check it but you have to set them somewhere other than your own mind as in itself is not constant like a piece of paper or internet list. Contemplate them, write them once then forget about them, the goals will enter your subconscious and you will find yourself walking the path towards the goal fulfillment.
So this coming Thursday at Espionage gallery will be my first public show and a fulfillment of a 2012 goal and I'm only half way into the year!
